POCO X4 Pro 5G 2022 Review

The POCO X4 Pro 5G is the latest bang-for-your-buck (basta, sulit!) smartphone released by POCO this year. After the impressive price-to-spec ratio of the POCO X3 GT, POCO is out again to compete with other phones in the market with an even better version of their last POCO X release.

Out of the box, the POCO X4 Pro 5G is stunningly beautiful: light reflects in skybeam fashion, but a closer look at the backfinish reveals a shell-like texture – it’s a little something for the design nerds, and one which POCO has always emphasized in their lineups. The POCO X4 Pro is available in Laser Blue, Laser Black, and POCO Yellow.

Better Display

On the surface of POCO X4 Pro 5G is an AMOLED panel with a screen refresh rate of 120Hz, allowing for a responsive and smoother experience. The AMOLED display allows for deep, true blacks, and lively saturated colours, with crisp, sharp images displayed at 1080×2040.

AMOLED na yan, bro – POCO X4 Pro 5G 2022

The screen is viewable under the sun thanks to a 1200 nits peak brightness (although we don’t recommend it because screen burn). Sobrang laking improvement over the POCO X3 GT and the POCO X3 Pro, both of which were running 120Hz displays on IPS LCD. The screen is shielded by Gorilla Glass 5.

Camera Features

POCO X4 Pro 5G is equipped with a 108 MP shooter, an upgrade over the POCO X3 GT’s 64 MP main camera. In fact, the POCO X4 is the first in POCO’s lineup to have a 108 MP camera resolution. The POCO X4 Pro 5G has a standard 8 MP ultrawide for scenic shots, and a 2.4 telephoto macro lens, which isn’t a feature present in its predecessors.

The POCO X4 Pro 5G doesn’t take after the design of the POCO X3 or the POCO X3 GT, with the big POCO branding slapped across the upper back section – a label that won’t be hard to miss.

Performance

The POCO X4 Pro 5G is running a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695. But wait, there’s more: for a friendly, mid range phone, the POCO X4 Pro 5G boasts an Antutu benchmark score of 395,978 points, but on our test, the phone was at 373,440 points – not bad considering all the apps installed on the phone.

We’ve tested games on the POCO X4 Pro and the chipset handles games like Mobile Legends with ease, although there’s a slight dip in the frame rate depending on temperature.

Overall, the Qualcomm Snapdragon does a good job of handling everyday apps like Facebook and Youtube, and is more than capable of the most popular mobile games.

Fast Charging, Big Battery Life

The POCO X4 Pro 5G is powered by a 5000maH battery with 67W turbo charging. POCO advertises that the battery reaches 30% for an 8 minute charge, and at 90% for a 30 minute charge. Despite the massive battery, the POCO X4 doesn’t feel excessively heavy, weighing only 205 grams.

Pricing and Where to Buy

The POCO X4 Pro 5G 6GB/128GB retails for PHP 16,990, while the 8GB/256GB costs PHP 17,990. The 6GB/128GB version is already out in Lazada.
