Released in China this month, the vivo Pad is the first tablet vivo has released this year. In fact, ‘eto ang unang tablet ng vivo and it’s setting up tough competition with the iPad-like design. Read more about the all-new vivo Pad below.

Design

The vivo Pad has an elegant and premium look: with a glass front panel, aluminum frame, and aluminum rear panel, it’s hard not to say “wow” sa device na ‘to. Basing it solely sa pictures and the manufacturing process, the rear panel is expected to be a matte metal finish. The logo is “stamped” across the back via laser engraving technology.

If we had the device at all, we’d be impressed with the dimensions. Napakanipis ng tablet na ‘to: at 6.6mm thickness, it’s slimmer than most phones today. The full dimensions measure 253.2 x 164.7 x 6.6 mm.

Napakanipis ng vivo Pad!!!

Pero kahit manipis pa ang tablet, may kabigatan din. It weighs close to half a kilo (489g), but this is because of the similarly heavy-duty battery installed.

It’s slimmer than the iPad 10.2 of 2020. It’s also slightly taller, too. Meron na rin ‘tong stylus for people who are into graphic design.

Display

The vivo Pad display measures 11-inches with a 16:10 screen ratio which should be big enough for most users. Although for tablet enthusiasts, this might be a little narrow, especially kung nanggaling na sa iPad. The 1600 x 2560 pixels provides images with just the right sharpness and detail.

In addition to the high-resolution display, the tablet is equipped with a 120Hz refresh rate, so if you’re going to use this for gaming, it’s a different experience altogether.

The vivo Pad is compatible with a stylus

The HDR10 is also going to be useful when viewing noir or neo-noir movies, or generally lahat ng horror movies na maraming shadows. Users will appreciate na may difference pa rin sa level ng shadows or highlights when viewing said movies in the vivo Pad.

Wala kang makikitang distraction on screen because the front camera is located on the bezels. While it’s true that some tablets have opted for in-screen punch-hole cameras to maximize screen vs bezel slimness, the vivo Pad chooses tradition over upgrades.

Performance

Inside the tablet is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chip to support all the advanced features na kasama. The SD 870 chipset is running in sync with Android 12 UI.

We have no benchmark scores available for the device yet, but the Snapdragon 870 has an average Antutu score of 655000. Kung optimized ang hardware na ginamit sa vivo Pad at software installed, we should expect higher scores.

The vivo Pad is also using an Adreno 650 GPU which should handle most games and tasks with relative ease. Meron na rin memory fusion technology ang tablet, so the extra internal storage space can allocate a few GB’s para mahandle ang RAM intensive workloads. Basically, kayang-kaya ng vivo Pad mag increase ng performance. Kahit base version pa bilhin, sulit pa rin.

Of course, the Snapdragon 870 coupled with the massive 11-inch display is going to consume a lot of power, kaya naman meron na itong 8040mAh battery. This is just the right amount of battery power – anymore and it’s going to make the vivo Pad weigh like a brick.

The vivo Pad is comfortable to carry around for short periods of time.

The vivo Pad comes with a 44W fast charger and reverse charging technology – mas okay na sana kung pwedeng wireless reverse charging (like Qi charging tech) but hey, maganda na ang vivo Pad as a whole.

Camera

Sometimes, hindi priority ang camera hardware when it comes to tablets, as these devices are focused on giving consumers bigger screens for a better media experience. It’s made for watching, reading, playing games, business, graphic design, and pretty much anything else na kailangan ng malaking display.

However, the vivo Pad still has a dual camera setup. One is a 13MP ultrawide, f/2.2 with 1.12um sensor size (individual), and a secondary 8MP ultrawide with almost the same specs. If vivo did anything right with the camera choice, it’s the ultrawide lens. Makes sense, kasi nga tablet, so bigger pictures would be better.

These cameras can record 4K resolution videos at 30fps, and 1080p videos at 30fps. The selfie camera is equipped with an 8MP sensor that can also record in 1080p videos at 30fps. The front camera lens isn’t ultrawide, but its decent enough for tablet selfies. Good luck though using this with one hand lol.

Pricing and Availability

The vivo Pad is available in the following configurations: 8GB RAM | 128GB Storage. It’s priced at 2499 CNY. For the stylus, it’s an additional CNY 349, and the keyboard is priced at CNY 599. No official PH price is available yet, but stay tuned for more updates!
