The vivo Y55 is out now! Featuring a Snapdragon 680, 5000mAh, and 50MP triple cameras, this phone has other features that make it a budget-friendly device for fashionable young individuals.

First off, halos magkaspecs na sila ng isa pang phone that we recently made a review on – the Redmi 10C – but ti’s better than the Redmi 10C in terms of camera capabilities.

This is not to be confused with the vivo Y55 4G available here in the Philippines. The new vivo release is actually a remodel of the iQoo Z6 44W, and is released in Vietnam. The Philippine variant is only a budget phone equipped with a 2GB RAM and specs that will set it far below vivo Y55 4G with the Snapdragon 680.

DESIGN

This phone measures 8.4mm in thickness, but despite the size, it weighs 182 grams, which is pretty light. Although some people may not like it, dahil parang cheap and plastic ang feels, which is a factor many people consider when it comes to choosing phones.

However, this phone still tries to look its best, kasi nga vivo. It’s not vivo if it’s not premium looking. However, the rear panel looks like another vivo phone, the vivo Y73 5G, except walang diamond design ngayon.

DISPLAY

Magandang gamitin ang vivo Y55 4G since it has a large screen. Kahit gumagamit ng drop-notch ang front facing camera, this phone is using AMOLED. It’s a really great phone since not a lot of drop-notch displays use AMOLED.

Users should be able to appreciate the display on this phone. Images are sharp and video playback is smooth. Gaming should not be a problem thanks to the responsive screen. This phone has slim bezels, but it still has a somewhat sizeable chin.

PERFORMANCE

May bagong Snapdragon 680 ang phone. This is not a slow phone, kahit Qualcomm SD 600 series ang gamit. The chipset should be able to run apps smoothly. This phone has a decent battery to match: at 5000mAh, buong araw mo magagamit ang vivo Y55.

It also comes with 44W fast charging – you should be able to use the phone in just less than an hour of charging. The phone runs on a Android 12 with Funtouch OS.

CAMERA

The main camera captures clear images in 50MP. For people who like to take portrait shots, the 2MP depth sensor helps give the bokeh effect, and a 2MP macrolens will be useful for close up shots.

You can get good selfies with the front camera because it’s equipped with an 16MP sensor. It’s the not the best selfie camera out there, but at least the AMOLED’s going to show you clearer face pics.

PRICE AND AVAILABILITY

The phone will sell for around PHP15,000, converted from USD300. The vivo Y55 is available in Snow White and Black Star color styles. There’s only one storage configuration available: 4GB RAM with 128GB internal memory. The phone is already available in Vietnam, but there’s no release date for PH yet.

Stay tuned for more updates!
